2. Full Membership Covers

  • One copy of each GALZ publication including the GALZETTE and the GALZ newsletter;
  • Access to the GALZ Resource Centre and Library;
  • Access to legal advice on sexual orientation, violations (blackmail, extortion, outing, arrests), harassment based on sexual orientation as well as legal support, asylum support and legal referrals in cases relating to sexual orientation;
  • Access to training and capacity building workshops on human rights literacy, risk reduction, safety and security, health awareness, HIV treatment literacy, comprehensive sexuality education;
  • Access to GALZ general health programs including counselling and immediate access to the Positive Image Health-Care Scheme for those who are HIV positive;
  • Access and referral to professional health-care workers and friendly health facilities as well as peer-support network;
  • Access to safe and friendly social spaces;
  • Priority consideration for volunteer and other positions within GALZ and;
  • Voting rights in GALZ elections and polling campaigns.

Please Note

  • Local membership subscriptions can be paid in cash or via Ecocash at any GALZ Centres across the country and a receipt will be issued.
  • The Board reserves the right to refuse membership to any person. However, you may appeal against this decision at a general meeting of the GALZ membership. Please contact the Programmes Manager for a copy of the GALZ constitution and ask for advice.
  • First-time members will be asked to talk to a counsellor. This will help introduce you to GALZ and the services the organisation can provide you.
  • Members of GALZ agree to be bound by the GALZ code of conduct.
